Pros and cons of The Nation Magazine app for iPhone and iPad

The Nation Magazine app good for

I had no trouble getting the app to work. I was already an online subscriber, though, and simply logged into the app using the username email and password I already had. So no complaints.
The app is as good or as bad as any other app relegated to other magazines. One simply has to be subscribed before one may use the app. As a subscriber one registers with The Nation Magazines website and creates an account. Then and only then one can use the app and access the wealth of material available both in the current and previous issues.

Some bad moments

One thing I figured out only after struggling for weeks trying to read articles: the app only scrolls correctly in portrait mode.
I downloaded the App and then paid for my subscription thru Apple like I have with a few magazines and journals. I get confirmation from Apple that my money has been debited. But I cannot get the app to let me register and use the service. It goes in circles. Of course they do not have a call center that has technical trouble shooters beyond 6pm. How do I get my money back?
Condolences to the fine writers and editors of this magazine, betrayed by inept programmers and customer "service" drones who try to blame Apple for the excrement they have dropped in the App Store.
This app has major problems. Dont bother subscribing for digital access (you wont be able to access it anyway) just go for the old fashioned paper magazine.
This app is useless. Does nothing but send you around in circles. If you want to read The Nation forget the digital subscription. Youll be wasting your money and your time. Go for the paper subscription instead. And shame on The Nation for even putting this app out there.
This is the worst app Ive ever worked with. My latest issue opened the previous issue instead and could never get it to work. Customer service told me to call iTunes (yeah, right). I insisted on talking to digital support, told to remove and reinstall the app and that I wouldnt need a log in because I purchased sub through iTunes. That didnt work and I am locked out of my existing sub. I cancelled iTunes renewal and signed up through the Nation and will try again.
